Getting to the Islands

Transportation?
Airlines serving Charleston include American Eagle, Continental, Delta, US Airways, United Express, and Northwest! We strongly recommend renting a car.

Do you provide shuttle service from the airport?
No, we do not provide shuttle service from the airport, but transportation from both airports is available by prior arrangements. Call 1-800-877-0837. Rental cars are recommended while on the island.

Once you arrive

When is check in?
After 4:00 p.m. Summer Saturdays are our busiest check-in/out days. Housekeeping does everything possible to ready your accommodations by 4:00 p.m., but occasionally they may not be completely finished until 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. You may arrive on the island anytime during the day and enjoy the beach, bike trails, restaurants, and shops. Keys, however, will not be released until your accommodations are cleaned and ready for you.

Is there transportation on the islands?
There is no shuttle service on the islands. Although you can get around on a rental bike, you will need a rental car for trips to the grocery store and historic Charleston. If you would like to rent a car, call our Guest Services staff for further information 1-800-877-0837.

Is parking at our accommodations limited?
Yes, there is a strict vehicle pass limit for each property. If your party plans to bring more than 2 cars, please check with our Guest Services staff (1-800-877-0837) to verify the number of cars permissible. Note: No motorcycles or golf carts allowed.

Where is the closest grocery store?
There is a Red & White grocery at the nearby Island Center. A Piggly Wiggly grocery store is just off the Isle of Palms Connector. If you are arriving early, please don’t buy perishables until we verify that your accommodations are ready.

What is the phone number of our lodging?
Since your accommodations may have to be assigned on the day of arrival, give family or friends your reservation number or the name on the reservation and they can call toll-free to 1-800-877-0837. Our staff can give them your phone number once you arrive.

What other convenient services do you offer?
We provide a mail drop, a post office nearby, FedEx services, photocopying, fax and answering machines, newspaper delivery and gift baskets. There is a charge for some items. It is best to order in advance, since quantities are limited.

Is there use of a pool?
Many homes and villas do offer pools free of charge for guests renting in those areas. For those guests without pool access at their accommodations, the East Shores Athletic Club, a short drive away, offers an indoor pool for a minimal charge. Keep in mind the beach is free!

When can you book golf tee times?
Call our Golf Coordinator to set up advance tee times on any of the 16 area golf courses we offer. Call to get the latest on course conditions, scheduled maintenance and tee time availability. We offer a wide variety of courses to suit the needs of a beginner to the most advanced golfers. Call your advance tee time requests in early to 1-800-877-0837 or by e-mail to jamidon@resortquest.com.

Should we rent bikes and equipment before arrival?
To guarantee availability and delivery, it is advisable to order bike rentals at least two weeks prior to your arrival. To reserve bikes and other equipment, fill out a Pre-Arrival Equipment Order Form, visit our website at ResortQuest Isle Of Palms or call 1-800-877-0837 for assistance.

Can we rent beach equipment?
Yes, beach equipment such as beach chairs, umbrellas, beach carts, and boogie boards can be rented by calling Isle of Palms Beach Chair Company at (843) 670-1009.

How do we register for Summer Children's Recreation Programs in advance?
Call Isle of Palms' Summer Children’s Recreation in advance at (843) 886-8924.

Can we rent childcare items?
Yes, items like cribs and high chairs can be rented. All items are delivered directly to your accommodations and picked up after departure. Crib linens are not included. Guest Services can provide child care recommendations.

What's included in our accommodations?
All accommodations offer central heating, air conditioning and a fully-equipped kitchen including dinnerware, flatware, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender and a microwave oven. Telephone, VCR and/or DVD player, AM/FM radio and color cable TV are also standard. Most properties offer a washer and dryer. Starter sets of paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing and laundry detergent are also provided. Initial setup of bed linens and bath towels are provided; extra items or daily maid service are available for a fee.

What items should we bring?
We suggest you bring beach towels, coffee filters, salt and pepper, your favorite spices, tin foil, any special food products, as well as any personal items such as sunblock, shampoo, lotion, a hair dryer, etc. However, if you forget something, there is shopping close by.

Can we rent boats?
Yes, you can rent a variety of watercraft and kayaks for daily or hourly use by filling out the enclosed Pre-Arrival & Equipment Order Form or by referring to the information in your check-in package, or by contacting a ResortQuest Privileges Vendor online.

Do you deliver groceries?
Yes, Guest Services does provide Pre-Arrival Grocery Delivery Service. A local company can do your grocery shopping, including delivery and unpacking, prior to your arrival. Are there rules we need to know?

  • Yes, the East Islands are communities with many full-time residents. Please be a courteous neighbor and respect the residents’ right to peace and quiet.

  • As our online Vacation Guide and website and your E-Confirmation stated, the number of vehicles permitted and security passes issued will be strictly enforced. Be sure not to park on lawns or roadside grass. If roadside parking is available, please make sure to adhere to all posted rules & regulations.

  • Bikes must be parked in designated areas and may not be left on the street, in the yard, or in the driveway, even for short periods of time. Also, keep yards, decks, driveways and porches free of coolers, towels, etc.

  • Please refrain from any loud noise. Hours of quiet time are from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

  • Charcoal grilling on wooden decks, patio, porches, balconies or stairways is strictly prohibited.

  • Wild Dunes Guests & WD Sportscard: To access the Wild Dunes Sports Pavilion, which includes the swimming pool, tennis courts, recreation programs and fitness center, guests must rent a property which offers the Sportscard. Access may require advance reservations and additional fees may apply.
