7th Annual Charleston Comedy Festival. Presented by the 99 Theatre and Charleston City Paper. Some of the country’s hottest improv, sketch, and stand-up artists will descend upon Charleston, S.C., for what has become the annual event you don’t want to miss! Produced by Theatre 99 (Charleston’s Home for Improv Comedy) and the Charleston City Paper (the premier source for news, arts, and entertainment), 36 shows will be performed in six different venues on 01/20/10 – 01/23/10. Pleasant, SC.843-805-3084.Dubbed one of the Top 20 Tourist Attractions by the Southeast Tourist Society, the annual Lowcountry Oyster Roast promises a day of unique thrills at Boone Hall Plantation! Two tractor-trailer loads of oysters - more than 65,000 pounds - will be trucked onto the grounds of Boone Hall Plantation for the World's Largest Oyster Roast. Make sure to get your tickets early because it is expected to sell out again this year. There will be contests, entertainment, and activities for everyone throughout the day. Several local restaurants will also be on hand at the Food Court for those who would like something other than the oysters to snack on!
